The Showgrounds looked brilliant

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney was pleased with his side’s performance and the result as they saw off the challenge of Ballymena United yesterday afternoon…

Kearney highlighted that the result was the most important thing as his side pocketed all three points via Conor McKendry and Matthew Shevlin’s first-half contributions.

The boss confirmed that McKendry grabbed the first goal despite some confusion with Kearney labelling Shevlin’s effort as “a cracking finish” as he made it 17 goals for the campaign.

Despite having chances to make it 3-0, Kearney stressed that a clean sheet was the most important thing as the Stripes made it 951 minutes without conceding a goal in the Danske Bank Premiership.

A trip to the National Stadium kick-starts 2023 and the boss also paid tribute to both sets of supporters for a tremendous attendance on the Ballycastle Road.
