Third Phase

COLERAINE FC have commenced the third phase of the Stadium Redevelopment plan which was announced in their 2021 Business Plan…

On Monday 24th January work started to bring down the wall on the Ballycastle Road. The funding for this work was secured through one of our main sponsors RiverRidge and the Community Landfill Tax.

Whilst the vast majority of the wall will come down before the end of January, small bits of work will continue before the phase is complete.

Speaking about this phase, Stadium Redevelopment Project Manager David Boyd said:

“One of the things we identified early on in the redevelopment project was that we wanted to open Coleraine Football Club up to the public.

“One of the physical things that was preventing that was the existence of the wall which for 100 years has hidden The Showgrounds from the Ballycastle Road.

“I think a lot of people from Coleraine are shocked at the difference it has made to the whole outlook to the Ballycastle Road, which will help with regeneration of the area.”

The Board of Coleraine Football Club along with the Stadium Redevelopment Committee would like to thank RiverRidge for their support through this phase.
