Traynor: “It was nice to get a hug off the boss”

COLERAINE defender Aaron Traynor spoke of his delight after making his first league appearance in almost a year…

The 29-year-old suffered an ACL injury in September 2018 against Glenavon and was cruelly ruled out for the rest of the season.

However, after making an appearance for the Reserves and featuring in the North-West Cup against Moyola Park, the full-back was named in the starting line-up for yesterday’s win against Stephen Baxter’s side.

Traynor admitted that he was more worried about his performance pre-match rather than his knee, but felt back in the “swing of things” once the game kicked-off.

Traynor – who was named in the NIFWA Team of the Season in 2017/18 – admits he will support Adam Mullan if he is drafted back into the starting eleven next weekend.
