The Limavady man was part of a defensive unit that conceded only 24 goals in the Danske Bank Premiership last term, a feat only bettered by Cliftonville on 22.

The 28-year-old started in the BetMcLean League Cup final success against Crusaders and recently signed a new three-year-deal.

“I would like to thank the fans for choosing me for this award,” he said.

“Their backing all season has been great and really spurred us on.

“It is nice to pick up an individual award but football is a team game so I’d like to thank the rest of the squad.”
