DEAN Shiels spoke to Coleraine TV after the Bannsiders’ 2-1 defeat to Glentoran at The Showgrounds…

Shiels believes the first-half lacked “quality in general” but Glentoran took the lead as his side failed to defend a free-kick which was headed in by Jordan Jenkins.

The head coach remarked how the Bannsiders were much improved after the restart but once again conceded a “disappointing” second as Kodi Lyons-Foster powered a header beyond Rory Brown.

Shiels credited his players for keeping going as Matthew Shevlin fired in at the death but Coleraine ended up empty-handed.

There was also an update given on Declan McManus who was forced off through injury in the first-half.
