We can’t afford to lose any more bodies, says OK

ORAN Kearney admits the Bannsiders’ injury list is starting to mounting up after last night’s defeat to Larne at Inver Park..

After going into the contest without the likes of Stephen O’Donnell, Lyndon Kane and Lee Lynch plus others, the Stripes would lose Andy Scott and Matthew Shevlin to injuries inside the first 12 minutes at Inver Park.

That was further compounded when Joe Thomson opened the scoring for the hosts less than sixty seconds later.

Kearney refused to use the injuries as an excuse and believes teenager Senan Devine shined when coming off the bench, but believes Larne defender Cian Bolger should have been dismissed for his challenge that caused Shevlin’s injury.

The boss confirmed that he is expected to be without Shevlin for the foreseeable future and that Scott looks like he’s suffered a hamstring injury.

Kearney insists his squad will have to “dust themselves down” ahead of the visit of Carrick Rangers next weekend.
