RUAIDHRI Higgins says the Bannsiders have had a good week after picking up all three points against Glenavon yesterday afternoon…

After coming back to earn a 2-2 draw against Linfield on Tuesday, Coleraine returned to winning ways as they recorded a 5-1 success against the Lurgan Blues.

Higgins remarked that his side lacked any real intensity in the first-half but that he was glad to see Joel Cooper make the breakthrough with a close-range header.

The gaffer revealed that he told the players that he “demanded more” in the second-half and they duly obliged as Cooper completed his hat-trick, alongside efforts from Matthew Shevlin and Levi Ives.

Coleraine were unable to keep a clean sheet due to Paul McGovern’s wonder-strike and Higgins reinforced the importance of keeping the back door shut, although acknowledged that the attacker’s effort was “world-class”.

The Stripes face Armagh City in the BetMcLean Cup on Tuesday night and Higgins says his side want a deep run in the competition.
