COLERAINE head coach Dean Shiels says the Bannsiders weren’t “good enough” as they were beaten by Dungannon Swifts in the sixth round of the Irish Cup…

The Stripes were eliminated by the Swifts at Stangmore Park as Tomas Galvin’s extra-time strike proved to be the difference.

Shiels remarked that Coleraine didn’t play well enough to win the contest despite showing hard work and endeavour throughout the 120 minutes.

Coleraine had levelled through Declan McManus’ debut goal but Shiels conceded that his side didn’t deserve to go through as they failed to dictate play and switched off for Dungannon’s two goals.

Shiels says Coleraine have “no divine right” to win any trophy and that the club are working hard to make success a reality.
