‘We didn’t give Chris enough to do’ – OK

COLERAINE manager Oran Kearney admits his team ‘deviated from the game plan’ during a 25 minute spell in the first-half of last night’s defeat to Linfield…

The boss acknowledged that his side made a strong start to the game but didn’t create any clear cut opportunities, with Jordan Stewart’s opener coming against the run of play.

However, Kearney outlined his disappointment at how Coleraine changed their ‘mentality’ until the half-time whistle as the game turned into ‘basketball’ as Stewart bagged once again.

Coleraine reduced the deficit through Curtis Allen’s header and Kearney lamented that his troops didn’t force Chris Johns into making saves.

The Bannsiders lost Gareth Deane to injury which Kearney described as ‘not looking good’, as well as voicing his disappointment at Aaron Canning’s dismissal after a foul on Lyndon Kane in the build-up.

Kearney must lift his players ahead of Saturday night’s trip to Warrenpoint Town but reiterates there is a lot of football still to be played.
