DEAN Shiels admitted Saturday’s win at Carrick Rangers wasn’t for the purists but it was vitally important they left with all three points…

The Bannsiders sealed a 1-0 win at the east Antrim venue as Rhyss Campbell was in the right place at the right time to stab the ball home from close range.

Shiels remarked that his side showed they can win in an ugly fashion and credited them for their hard-work and endeavour.

He further commented on securing back-to-back clean sheets and how Campbell has popped up with important goals since his summer move from Dungannon Swifts.

Shiels also gave his views ahead of Friday night’s clash at home to Glentoran.
