‘We have got to start moving up the table’ – OK

COLERAINE go in search for their first win in five matches as they make the trip to Dungannon Swifts this evening (KO 7:30pm)…

Danske Bank Premiership

Overview:

Coleraine come into this evening’s fixture without a win in their last four games after a draw against Glenavon and three successive defeats against Crusaders, Linfield and Larne. The Bannsiders currently occupy 8th spot in the table after seven games.

The Swifts have also played seven times in the Danske Bank Premiership and sit in 10th position but will hope for a better outcome this time around after a defeat to Glentoran last Saturday.

Recent meetings:

The two sides clashed on two occasions last campaign and it would be the Bannsiders who would record maximum points. In September, after a goalless first-half, Coleraine turned on the style as James McLaughlin bagged four times, with Aaron Jarvis also finding the back of the net. Two months later, Coleraine made the trip to County Tyrone and a goal in each half from Stephen Lowry eased the Stripes to a 2-0 success.

Manager’s Thoughts:

“It’s been a tough start to the season for a multitude of different reasons – injuries, suspensions and everything else that goes with it,” added Kearney.

“We had four players missing from a full squad for last week’s defeat by Larne and all four were centre-halves.

“But we are no different to any other team – every club has their ups and downs – their tough periods and their good periods.

“The important thing is we get back to working hard again and we regroup and we’ve got to come out fighting and try to get three points on the board and start moving up the table.”

Admission:

Supporters are not permitted inside the stadium due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The match will be streamed live via the BBC Sport NI website and Red Button.

As ever, those unable to watch the fixture can follow the latest developments via the club’s official Twitter account (@ColeraineFC).
