‘We have more gears in us’ – OK

COLERAINE manager Oran Kearney admits he was left puzzled by a few refereeing decisions at Solitude but refused to use that as an excuse for the defeat…

The Bannsiders suffered their first loss in 17 games as Jamie Harney and Paul O’Neill grabbed the goals for the Reds in North Belfast, with Ben Doherty’s penalty bringing the visitors back into the contest.

Kearney remarked that he believed his side ‘edged’ the first-half but failed to capitalise on several openings and paid the punishment as Jamie Harney headed in from Aaron Donnelly’s free-kick on 43 minutes.

The boss was disappointed by the manner of the two goals as one was from a quick throw-in, with the second coming from a corner kick which was bundled over the line by Paul O’Neill on 62 minutes.

Kearney has challenged members of his squad to step up to the plate in terms of finding the back of the net, as well as being left puzzled after Harney wasn’t booked for a second time after conceding a penalty which was dispatched by Ben Doherty on 67 minutes.

The Bannsiders were reduced to ten men after Eoin Bradley’s dismissal and Kearney questioned how Skinner received his first yellow card but refused to use that as an excuse for the defeat in North Belfast.

Coleraine now face Larne on Tuesday night and Kearney is expecting many twists and turns before the season ends.
