“We just needed to take one more chance” – Kane

COLERAINE defender Lyndon Kane highlighted the squad’s strong mentality as they secured European football for the 2021/22 campaign…

The full-back admits it would have been nice to take the title race down to the final day but dropped points throughout the season cost the Stripes dear in their quest to win the Gibson Cup.

After an inconsistent start to the campaign, Kane initially targeted a top six finish but was delighted to secure European football for a fourth time in five seasons.

The 24-year-old remarked that the squad didn’t train for two-and-a-half months due to the busy schedule and that things will be slightly strange when the 4G pitch is installed for next season.

Kane and his team-mates will hope to confirm second spot in the Danske Bank Premiership standings as they face Larne at Inver Park on Saturday evening.
