We showed a lot of fight – Lowry

STEPHEN Lowry believes the Bannsiders’ competitiveness against a top team was fully rewarded as they earned a point from the visit of Larne yesterday afternoon…

Both teams would have chances throughout the 90 minutes but neither ‘keeper was breached as the match finished scoreless.

Lowry acknowledged that the defenders have been brilliant in recent weeks as the Bannsiders clocked up their third clean sheet in succession, adding that there is a “good fight and hunger” within the team at present to pick up results.

The Limavady native has recently made a comeback from injury and he remarked that he’s in a good place mentally and that he wants to keep his name in the starting eleven on merit.

The 37-year-old further joked that he’s looking forward getting a kick at his brother Philip when the Stripes visit Crusaders next weekend.
