‘We showed character to bounce back’ – Skipper

STEPHEN O’Donnell spoke to Coleraine TV as his brace of headers was enough to edge out a valiant Warrenpoint Town yesterday evening…

O’Donnell remarked that it is always a tough venue to come to and that he and his team-mates showed immense character after falling behind to bounce back and leave with all three points.

The skipper was pleased to see Coleraine look more threatening in front of goal, and honesty admitted that he hasn’t scored enough this season to date but spoke of the importance of netting a quick equaliser after Kealan Dillon’s wonderful effort broke the deadlock.

O’Donnell admits questions may have been asked after the recent defeat to Linfield but that the Stripes showed their strong mentality by getting the job done at Milltown.

The ex-Institute ace will now face free-scoring Glentoran on Tuesday night, and despite knowing how important it will be to keep their front men quiet, the big defender is hoping to score in back-to-back fixtures.
