COLERAINE FC is very pleased to announce that Lewis Webb has put pen-to-paper on a new contract with the club…

The shot-stopper has agreed a new deal which will keep him at The Showgrounds until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.

Webb, who hails from Newport in Wales, joined the Bannsiders in October last year and was part of the first-team squad which lifted the Irish Cup last season.

A former Swansea City trainee, the 25-year-old has started all of Coleraine’s Premiership fixtures so far this term, keeping three clean sheets and producing a number of fine saves in the process.

The new deal also reinforces the club’s strength between the sticks, with Webb forming part of a strong goalkeeping department at The Showgrounds alongside Ryan Schofield and Zak Robinson.

Speaking about Webb’s new deal, Bannsiders boss Ruaidhri Higgins said: “In goalkeeping terms, Lewis is a young goalkeeper and he’s had to be extremely patient since he came here.

“However, at no point did his standards or his levels in training drop whenever he wasn’t in the team.

“It shows in his performances how well he’s trained, he’s been extremely consistent but the challenge is now to maintain that consistency because he’s talented and has all the attributes.

“He’s a brilliant lad to have at the club and we’re delighted that he’s committed his future here.”
