Wil Wishes

COLERAINE FC can confirm that Ronan Wilson has joined H&W Welders on loan…

The midfielder will spend the entirety of the 2022/23 campaign at the Blanchflower Stadium and made his debut during their 1-1 draw against Warrenpoint Town last night.

Wilson has made a total of 48 appearances for the club since joining in the 2020 summer transfer window.

Speaking to colerainefc.com, boss Oran Kearney admits the move helps Wilson gain more game time.

“To be fair to Ronan, the easiest thing to do and I said it to him is that we were are stitching him up by keeping him here and letting him roll through with what his role has been in the last couple of years,” he said.

“He has been a brilliant understudy, someone who could step in at the click of a finger and can cover right-back, right midfield or wherever it may be.

“However, a career can creep by where you haven’t played enough football and it’s a great move for him.

“They have a great facility at the Welders, handy to where he is now based and it gets Ronan a year’s football under his belt and we will see where it takes him.”

Coleraine FC wishes Ronan the very best of luck during his time at the Welders.
