BEN Wylie says he is excited for the next chapter of his career after penning a two-and-a-half year deal at The Showgrounds…

The midfielder has become the latest addition to the squad after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Portadown.

Wylie arrives after also previously being on the books at Celtic, Airdrie (loan), Ballymena United (loan), Swedish side Ytterhogdals and Cliftonville.

Speaking exclusively to colerainefc.com following his switch, the 23-year-old said: “I’m over the moon to be here.

“I think the manager, the plan, I’ve played against Coleraine twice this year and they’re probably the best team I’ve played against.

“I’ve been in full-time football before. It didn’t go my way. I had to kind of see reality, see what’s going on.

“I’ve been around the league now for 18 months, two years. I feel like I know the league pretty well and I feel like I know what I have to do to be at my best every week.

“At the end of the day I came here to win trophies. That was the aim the manager told me and that’s what I want to do is win trophies.”

Wylie will be no stranger to several members of the first-team squad and he further explained his main attributes as a midfielder.

“I like getting on the ball, passing forward, box-to-box, I want to try and score goals,” he added.

“I want to try and stop goals or contribute to the team, but all in all, I just want the ball.

“I played with Dylan Boyle growing up through the Northern Ireland set-up.

“I played Ronan Doherty at Cliftonville and I’m obviously familiar with the likes of Matthew Shevlin and Cameron Stewart being local lads from Ballymena as well.

“It’ll be good to meet everyone when I get started.”
