COLERAINE start their BetMcLean Cup campaign with a visit to Dollingstown this evening (KO 7:45pm)…
BETMCLEAN CUP FIRST ROUND
Overview:
Coleraine were beaten in Premiership action last weekend as goals from Jay Boyd and Ben Arthurs gave Bangor a 2-1 success at Clandeboye Park. Despite halving the arrears through Zane Okoro’s second goal in as many games, Ruaidhri Higgins’ men couldn’t get anything from the contest despite creating numerous chances throughout the 90 minutes.
Dollingstown weren’t in action at the weekend as their game at home to Strabane Athletic had to be postponed. Stephen Uprichard’s side have won two and lost one out of their three Premier Intermediate matches to date, as well as progressing in the Irish Cup and Bob Radcliffe Cup. The Dollybirds have several players with previous Premiershp experience such as Gareth Buchanan, Aaron Duke and Gary Liggett.
Manager’s Thoughts:
“We know a lot about them,” Higgins said.
“Luckily our staff know a lot of their players and stuff like that.
“We will come in on Monday and get prepared for it.
“We will give the players all the information they need to go to Dollingstown to try and win the game.”
Officials:
The match referee will be Mark Dillon.
The assistant referees are Paul Robinson and Aaron Graham.
