COLERAINE FC was delighted to host more than 400 children at the club’s first-ever summer camp this week…

Taking place at the Victor Hunter Community Pitch, the camp gave young players the opportunity to develop their football skills in a fun and welcoming environment, with sessions covering everything from passing and shooting to fun and interactive activities and small-sided matches.

More importantly, the week was all about enjoying the game, making new friends and creating some great memories along the way.

To round off a fantastic week, all the children were presented with a medal and certificate in recognition of their enthusiasm, effort and endeavours.

Head of Community Football at Coleraine FC, David McDaid, said: “It’s been fantastic to see so many young players enjoying the Coleraine FC summer camp this week.

“For us, these programmes are about much more than football. We want children to enjoy coming to the club, make new friends, develop their confidence and feel part of Coleraine FC.

“The attitude and energy from the children throughout the week was brilliant.

“We’re continuing to grow what we do within the community, and weeks like this show exactly why it’s so important. Hopefully we’ll see plenty of these young players back involved in our programmes again throughout the year.

“A massive thank you to every parent for supporting the scheme, to all of our coaches for the time, effort and enthusiasm they brought throughout the week, and most importantly, to all the children who came along and made the summer scheme what it was.”
