RUAIDHRI Higgins praised his side for their “professionalism” after claiming a 5-0 triumph at Crusaders…

The Bannsiders made it four Premiership victories in a row after efforts from Ben Wylie, Senan Devine, Joel Cooper and Adam Brooks – was added to an own goal – to pick up all three points at Seaview.

The weather meant for difficult playing conditions but Higgins credited his players for managing the challenging elements and scoring some fine team goals in the process.

“It was a horrendous day but the players conducted themselves immaculately and deserve all the credit they get,” he said.

“It was a really professional performance by us and we scored some brilliant goals.

“The red card was early enough in the game, but as I said, I was really happy with our application to the game and our professionalism and how we went about it.

“I’m also delighted for Adam Brooks to get his first goal. He’s got brilliant movement, he finds space in the box and that’ll be the first of many.

“It was a really good result for us and we managed to keep a clean sheet on a horrendous day weather-wise, so we’re delighted with the win.”

Devine’s goal certainly caught the eye as the midfielder’s strike from 25 yards sailed into the top corner for his fourth goal of the campaign.

Higgins reflected: “It was a phenomenal goal. One thing Senan has is goals in him and he’s always looking to hurt the opposition.

“He’s got a brilliant left foot. Obviously, still very, very young, 19. He’s played a lot for us so far this season and will continue to play a lot for us.

“We felt today was a good game for him, that he could pick holes in the opposition. He was fantastic, particularly in that first half.

“I thought also Ben Wylie had a really, really good game as well and took his goal well.

“The move for Adam’s goal was also great with Lewis McGregor sending a great cross into the box.”
