DEAN Shiels says the Bannsiders “managed to get a lot of work in” as they return from a near two-week break this weekend…

Coleraine weren’t in competitive action last weekend due to international call-ups for opponents Cliftonville, but Shiels remarked that his players worked hard during that period and played a behind-closed-doors friendly against Derry City.

Shiels confirmed that Lyndon Kane will be absent for the “foreseeable future”, Jamie McGonigle is struggling with an injury, with Graham Kelly and Aidan Tejada definitely ruled out.

With Kane out injured, Shiels says he is expected other members of the squad to take up the leadership role within the side and how Carrick have players who can hurt his side.
