Gawne with well wishes

COLERAINE FC expresses its thanks to Alexander Gawne and wishes him well for the future…

The striker has joined Ballymena United as part of the deal that sees David McDaid move back to The Showgrounds.

A product of the youth academy, Gawne made 33 appearances for the Bannsiders and scored five goals in the process throughout his career.

The 22-year-old would spend the last three-and-half years on loan at Carrick Rangers, where he will link up with former team mate Jim Ervin at the Sky Blues.

“We would like to thank Alex for his contribution throughout his time at Coleraine,” boss Oran Kearney said.

“He scored some memorable goals for us and worked hard to get into the first-team from the under age set-ups.

“We wish Alex the best of luck for the next chapter of his career.”
