Minors narrowly lose out

COLERAINE would suffer a close defeat as they were edged out by Loughgall on day four of this year’s SuperCupNI tournament…

The Bannsiders would miss out on reaching the final of the Bowl competition as a first-half effort was enough for Loughgall to progress through to the final.

Coleraine settled into the game quickly and had some good passing moves. Loughgall however looked dangerous from the long ball and it was from a breaking ball that the Villagers scored the opener. Coleraine pushed and created a number of good opportunities but none troubled the Loughgall ‘keeper.

The second-half brought more of the same with a number of good chances created by Coleraine but none could be converted. In the end Coleraine came agonisingly close but just couldn’t put the ball in the net.

The Stripes finish their SuperCupNI campaign with a third/fourth play-off in the Bowl against IDA Bermuda at Clough (KO 11am).
