Result:

Cliftonville 1-2 Coleraine

Goal – Caldwell (’26 mins); Black (’43 mins), Allen (’63 mins)

Report:

Coleraine beat the Reds for the second time in five days to end Cliftonville’s 10-match winning run in the league.

Ciaran Caldwell’s penalty put the hosts ahead after a foul on Stephen Garrett while Coleraine levelled with a controversial spot-kick on 43 minutes.

Johnny Black converted from 12 yards but the Reds argued that Ciaran Clarke was brought down outside the box.

Curtis Allen had been denied by the woodwork before hitting the bottom corner for a 63rd minute winner.

David Ogilby connected with Garrett for the opening penalty while Dermot McVeigh committed the foul on Clarke which resulted in Coleraine’s equaliser.

The Bannsiders lost keeper Michael Doherty to a back injury in the first half with Gavin Cullen his replacement.

Allen came close just before the break, the striker lifting the ball over keeper John Donnelly but striking the bar.

Cliftonville pressed late in the game and Rory Donnelly, who is set for a move to Swansea City, was brought off the bench.

The prolific teenager almost made an immediate impact when he headed straight at Cullen.

Ciaran Donaghy and Darren Stuart went close for the Reds but Coleraine held on to record a sixth straight victory at Solitude.
