Bannsiders prepare for Windsor test

COLERAINE are back in action this weekend as they prepare to face Linfield at Windsor Park (KO 3pm)…

The Bannsiders go into the game with their unbeaten run still intact – only dropping 4 points since the new Danske Bank Premiership season got underway back in August.

The sides clashed at The Showgrounds back in October and it was the Bannsiders who came away with all three points.

A goal from Brad Lyons gave Coleraine the lead early in the second-half. Mark Haughey levelled proceedings for Linfield, before Jamie McGonigle’s controversial winner sealed victory for Oran Kearney’s side.

Defender Lyndon Kane spoke to colerainefc.com midweek and insists there is no added pressure on being the league leaders.

“I think the only pressure on the team is the pressure we put on ourselves,” Kane said.

“We have made an excellent start so we work hard together to see how long we can keep this run going.

“There are no easy games in our league so you have to make sure you are giving 100% each game.”

Coleraine head into Saturday’s crucial fixture refreshed after a much needed break last weekend.

Oran Kearney’s side were reprieved from domestic action due to International call-ups.

Ciaron Harkin and Jamie McGonigle were called up to the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad to face Albania. The pair have been instrumental in Coleraine’s successful start to the season – having featured in every game so far.

Eoin Bradley, James McLaughlin, Brad Lyons and Lyndon Kane still remain on the injury list with no set date for their return.

As ever, those unable to attend can follow all the latest developments via the club’s official Twitter account (@ColeraineFC).
