Carri Momentum

COLERAINE get their October fixtures underway as they make the trip to Carrick Rangers tomorrow afternoon (KO 3pm)…

Danske Bank Premiership

Overview:

Coleraine have enjoyed their trips on the road so far this season as they secured wins against Linfield and Glenavon, as well as draws against Glentoran and Ballymena United. The Bannsiders were held to a goalless draw last weekend against Larne, with Eoin Bradley and Aaron Jarvis going close after the break to earning all three points. Carrick have enjoyed a steady start to life back in the top flight but have lost back-to-back games against Linfield and Dungannon Swifts.

Recent meetings:

The two sides clashed three times during the 2017-18 season and Coleraine would enjoy maximum points from all three games. The first meeting was in September 2017 and goals from David Ogilby and Darren McCauley (2) sealed a 3-0 success at The Showgrounds. Then, in December, Coleraine left the Belfast Loughshore Hotel Arena with all three points via strikes from Ciaron Harkin, Brad Lyons and Jamie McGonigle. The final meeting was in March 2018 and it proved to be an entertaining affair as Darren Henderson gave Carrick a half-time lead, but the game turned on its head after the break as Josh Carson (2) and Aaron Burns put Coleraine in control, before Michael Smith netted a late reply as Coleraine held firm for all three points.

Team News:

Coleraine boss Oran Kearney is expected to be without the services of James McLaughlin and Stephen O’Donnell for the fixture through injury.

Manager’s Thoughts:

“There’s definitely no easy games in this league,” Kearney said.

“You could see how good Carrick were against Linfield during the week, they caused them quite a lot of problems.

“Niall has done a fantastic job, they are riding on the crest of a wave with being promoted and everything else, and they are playing with freedom.

“Any time I’ve gone there it has been a tough game and I don’t expect Saturday to be any different.”

Admission:

Admission has been set at £12 adults, £8 concessions.

As ever, those unable to attend can follow the latest developments from the fixture via the club’s official Twitter account (@ColeraineFC).
