COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney says that the best preparation for an assault on qualification for Europe is by playing the best teams in the country…

Oran was speaking after a chaotic 3-2 defeat to Glenavon on a beautiful day at the Showgrounds. His assessment was that the Glenavon red card had given them an opportunity to get at least a point from the game after the first 55 minutes which he classified as “up until the red card, the levels weren’t where they need to be.”

“Whilst we were without 4 or 5 players, this presents opportunities for others to stake their claim. Kirk (McLaughlin) did well for the penalty.

“We want to get aches and pains rested and recovered, get players back in training and ready for the play offs and the best preparation is to play the best teams in the country.”
