Ian Parkhill extends his stay at The Showgrounds

Parkhill extends Coleraine contract

COLERAINE FC is happy to announce that Ian Parkhill has extended his contract with the club…

The new two-year extension will see the Ballymoney man tied down to the club until June 2020. The winger has made 134 appearances, scoring 17 goals since joining the Bannsiders from Tobermore United in 2014.

Whilst at the club, Parkhill has become a fans’ favourite for his high work rate and was part of the team which secured European football last season.

Coleraine manager Oran Kearney admitted that Parkhill has ‘adapted well’ to Irish League football during his time at The Showgrounds.

“Over the last three seasons, Ian has adapted well to the Irish League,” Kearney said.

“He had a great first season with us and has been right back at it this season.

“He might have been frustrated with his lack of game time due to Josh Carson’s form, but Parky put in a great shift against Glentoran and then the derby last weekend.

“He has a fantastic attitude, trains well and a great engine. He is an important member of the squad and is popular amongst the players and support.”

The 27-year-old acknowledged that it was an ‘easy decision’ to extend his stay on the Ballycastle Road.

“I am delighted to have agreed this new deal,” Parkhill added.

“Coleraine is my local club and I want to be here.

“When Oran spoke to me about signing a new deal it was an easy decision to accept and I signed it within a few days.”
