Previous defeat spurred Bannsiders – OK

COLERAINE boss Oran Kearney revealed that the Bannsiders’ previous defeat to Warrenpoint Town spurred his side to record all three points at Milltown…

A hat-trick from Jamie Glackin and a first Coleraine goal for Matthew Fitzpatrick helped the Stripes to all three points and move up to fourth spot in the Danske Bank Premiership in the process.

The boss insisted that he believes Glackin should be hitting “double figures” every season, but that he and the player are on an “incredible journey” after Kearney returned to the post in the summer.

Warrenpoint inflicted the Bannsiders’ first defeat of the season in November and Kearney revealed that he has used that loss over numerous team talks in recent months.

The visitors suffered a blow midway through the second-half as Eoin Bradley went down with a hamstring injury and Kearney confirmed that he will “monitor” the striker’s progress over the coming days.
