Special Guest

COLERAINE FC is pleased to announce that a special guest will be at The Showgrounds tomorrow afternoon…

Former Northern Ireland youth captain Jamsie Nicholl will return to the Ballycastle Road for the game against Larne.

Nicholl is guest of Honorary Vice President, Frankie Moffatt, who gave a glowing reference for the former Finn Harps player.

JAMSIE NICHOLL

Our special guest on Saturday will be no stranger to our older fans as he represented the club with great distinction during the 60’s.

He is Jamsie Nicholl who is one of the most decorated players to have played for the club. How many people can claim to have captained NI youth teams including George Best and Pat Jennings?

Jamsie also proudly led his country to the final of the European Youth Tournament dubbed “The Mini World Cup” only to lose to the hosts England at Wembley. That side also included his Coleraine teammates Shaun Dunlop and Matt McClelland providing testament to Bertie Peacock’s successful youth policy when he took over as manager.

Unfortunately, Jamsie suffered a horrendous leg break in a league fixture at The Showgrounds which no doubt had a big impact on his further career. He also went on to represent Finn Harps in the League of Ireland but it is fair to say his heart has remained in Coleraine.

He will be joined tomorrow by fellow Derry men Joe Healy and Tony Hutton and also his former teammates Dessie Dickson and Ivan Murray. Please welcome this true legend of the club back to The Showgrounds along with our other match day guests.
