Traynor happy to get the nod

COLERAINE TV spoke to defender Aaron Traynor after he made his comeback from injury in the 2-0 win against Larne at The Showgrounds…

The ex-Lisburn Distillery and Warrenpoint Town ace had been absent in recent weeks but was handed a start in the victory against Tiernan Lynch’s side.

Traynor described the win as a ‘big, big shift’ and discussed playing in the heart of the defence alongside Aaron Canning and Stephen O’Donnell.

The Belfast man also paid tribute to Ian Parkhill and Ronan Wilson for their hard work and endeavour as they both provided protection for the defence, as well as an attacking outlet as Wilson set up Curtis Allen’s opener on 26 minutes.

Coleraine welcome Glenavon to The Showgrounds this Saturday and Traynor has described them as ‘tricky opposition’ as they have produced some impressive results so far this campaign.

Traynor admitted that he didn’t expect to play last night but was more than happy to do so and heaped praise on the medical team for helping players in their recovery during the busy schedule.
