Carson: ‘I want to apologise to the fans and players for the red card’

COLERAINE winger Josh Carson speaks to the club website after his dismissal against Glentoran last weekend…

The summer recruit from Linfield admits the decision was the correct call, but apologises for leaving the team a man light for 70 minutes.

“I apologise to the fans and the players for the sending off,” Carson said.

“I’m a whole hearted player that gives 100% for the badge and I didn’t want to let anyone down.

“The fans were excellent from start to finish and I’m sure it’ll be the same on Saturday.”

The 24-year-old also praised the team for their efforts in securing a point against Glentoran, and believes they could have arguably taken all three.

“The lads produced a fantastic performance and they deserve credit for showing character and desire with 10 men,” Carson added.

“Every player stood up to the challenge and we were unlucky to not take all three points.

“I’m obviously gutted to be missing the derby match next weekend, but I’ve full faith in the squad to get the three points.”
