Chairman congratulates New Year’s Honours recipients

COLERAINE FC would like to extend their congratulations to those who were yesterday named on the New Year’s Honours list…

Coleraine Football Club wish to extend their congratulations to Mr Harry Gregg and Mr Gareth McAuley, both ex players of the club, for their New Year’s Honours.

Harry is awarded the OBE whilst Gareth is awarded the MBE.

Commenting Chairman Colin McKendry said, “I am delighted for both gentlemen who have been great ambassadors for football worldwide.

“Harry more recently through his foundation has inspired boys and girls to live their dreams and to aspire to reach their life goals.

“Gareth has been an inspiration to local footballers and the Northern Ireland support over many years and we as a club wish to extend our congratulations to them.

“It would also be remiss of me not to congratulate Mr Stephen Baxter on his award also. Stephen has been a champion of local football not only as a player but latterly as a manager and I am delighted to see his contribution to the Irish League being recognised.”
