Coleraine complete the signing of Joe McCready on a one-year contract

Coleraine seal deal for Joe McCready

COLERAINE FC is delighted to announce the signing of striker Joe McCready from Limavady United…

The former Dungannon Swifts front man – who scored two goals on his debut against Ballyclare Comrades – has penned a one-year deal with the option of a second at The Showgrounds.

The 27-year-old was on the receiving end of a hefty challenge on Saturday and was forced off the pitch, but boss Oran Kearney knows he has signed a player who is ready to compete in the Danske Bank Premiership.

“I have watched Joe a lot in the last year,” Kearney said.

“I’m very close to Paul Owens and have kept in contact about how he was playing at Limavady.

“A lot of people throughout the league know about Joe’s quality and we just wanted to ensure that he was able to sustain a year in the top flight.

“He showed last season at Limavady that the penny has dropped and he has knuckled down.

“There is no doubt about his quality and you could see that in his performance against Ballyclare.

“Hopefully he uses that as a springboard to kick on for the rest of the season.”

The Club can confirm that McCready will wear the number 26 shirt this season.
