‘Full focus now on football’ – Mullan

COLERAINE defender Adam Mullan insists his full focus is now on matters on the pitch after signing a new contract…

The Limavady man put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with the option of a third to remain at The Showgrounds.

Mullan – who made his first team debut in 2012 – has made 210 appearances for the Stripes and he was pleased to get his future sorted.

“I’m delighted to get everything done,” he said.

“The club has been very good to me and I’m pleased everything is over the line.

“My focus is purely on the football side as we return to pre-season.”

The 2020/21 campaign would prove to be a frustrating one for Mullan as a knee injury restricted him to just three games.

However, the 25-year-old has his eyes set on making up for lost time.

“Last season was pretty brutal to be honest,” he added.

“It was highly frustrating so I’m definitely looking forward to the upcoming campaign to put it right.

“I want to make up for lost time and I’m excited to get going.

“The end of the season probably came at a bad time as I was fit and enjoying my football again.”

The Bannsiders will find out their Europa Conference League opponents this Tuesday and Mullan, who has won the Irish Cup and League Cup during his time on the Ballycastle Road, is hoping to also appear in Europe after missing out last year.

“As a group we are looking forward to Europe,” he concluded.

“I missed out last year but it was still a good experience to go on the trips despite being frustrated at not being able to play.

“My overall aim for the campaign is to get back playing games at a consistent level over the year and see where it takes us.”
