NIFL Statement regarding Charity Shield

In a statement the organising body said, “The NI Football League can regrettably confirm that there will be no Charity Shield this season.

“The decision was taken due to the difficulties in securing a date due to the European commitments of clubs on the proposed date of Saturday 28 July.”

The Bannsiders – who featured in last season’s final against Linfield – were scheduled to face Crusaders next month. The Club will inform supporters if a pre-season friendly will take place on 28 July in due course.
