Travelling in confidence

COLERAINE striker Matthew Shevlin is hoping that recent confidence can help the Bannsiders reach their third successive BetMcLean Cup final…

Oran Kearney’s men travel to Solitude fresh off the back of two successive wins in the Danske Bank Premiership.

However, attention will quickly turn to a repeat of last year’s decider.

“We are feeling confident, we have had a few good results in a row, keeping clean sheets and scoring goals,” he said.

“We are going into the game confident and hoping to reach another final.

“We are all playing well together at the minute and I think keeping clean sheets has been the key.

“We want to keep that going for the rest of the season.”

Shevlin netted his 14th goal of the campaign in last week’s win against the Swifts.

“We got the two early goals and then after that we managed the game well, so we are happy to get the three points.

“Jarvy hit a shot towards goal and I just followed it in like any good striker does and thankfully I was able to tap it home.

“The second goal was a great finish by Conor and we probably should have got a third after that but we will take the win and move on.”
