He was there in an ambassador role as part of the club’s sponsors day.

Coleraine plan to invite ex players along throughout the season to mingle and talk about their career with the guests.

“People that know me know I don’t really feel comfortable being in the limelight,” explained the ex Bannsiders’ striker.

“I was approached by Clement Dealey to get involved and I was happy to come along.

“It’s nice that the club still wants to keep former players involved and make them feel valued.”

Saturday of course saw the first home game of the season on the new pitch.

“I’d been looking forward to it all week,” added Jody.

“A new pitch, a local derby, a big crowd and Coleraine in good form set it up perfectly.

“It was an exciting day rounded off with a great win.

“I got to meet the representatives from the main sponsors Lynas.

“We had a nice meal at the Newbridge restaurant and then went to the Club Lounge at the ground.

“I know Clement has a lot of ex players lined up and it’s a great initiative.”
