HIGHLIGHTS from the Bannsiders’ 2-0 victory away to Crusaders can now be viewed on the club’s official YouTube account…
Oran Kearney’s side would leave north Belfast with all three points courtesy of Conor McKendry’s deadly double.
A quick start to the game would see both teams go close as Ben Kennedy saw a shot deflect inches wide for the hosts, whilst at the other end, Johnny Tuffey would have to be alert to palm away McKendry’s drive.
The Stripes would go close yet again as Josh Carson’s free-kick took a wicked deflection as Tuffey tipped the ball over the bar, with Bannsiders stopper Gareth Deane also alert to thwart Paul Heatley.
Coleraine would make the breakthrough on 54 minutes as Andy Scott and Jamie Glackin combined to tee up McKendry who found the bottom corner.
However, Coleraine had Kieran Farren to thank as he headed the ball under the crossbar to deny Heatley from a certain equaliser. That intervention would prove decisive as the Bannsiders doubled their advantage on 77 minutes as McKendry added his second of the game.
Just after McKendry and Lee Lynch were denied a third goal for Coleraine, the hosts would be denied on the goal line once more as Farren was once again in the right position to deny Heatley.
