Along with wife Debbie, the 1982 World Cup star was a busy man as he signed copies of his new book ‘Gerry Armstrong, My Story My Journey’ in the Social Club prior to the Bet McLean League Cup semi final win over Warrenpoint.

Gerry took centre stage and was happy to pose for photographs with fans delighted to meet the Northern Ireland star.

“It was very enjoyable and I was happy with the turn out, ” said Gerry.

“People go to the bother of turning up and spending their hard earned money so I like to reach out to them.”

The book was launched a couple of weeks ago and is proving a real hit.

“The sales are going really well both online and when we’re out and about,” added Gerry.

“Already we’ve been to Derry, Cookstown, Omagh, Glenavon last weekend, now Coleraine and on Friday I will be at Larne.

“It’s not your normal autobiography and it’s not your normal football book,” explained Gerry.

“This book is very personal to me, some great stories and I think it will appeal to everyone.

“The feedback I’ve been receiving from people who have read the book has been very positive and encouraging.”

So there you are folks. If you’re looking for ideas for a Christmas present, look no further than ‘Gerry Armstrong, My Story My Journey’.

It’s a great read!
