Dun to it

COLERAINE will hope to make it four wins on the trot as Dungannon Swifts are the visitors to The Showgrounds tomorrow afternoon (KO 3pm)…

Danske Bank Premiership

Overview:

After a two-week circuit breaker, the Danske Bank Premiership returns as Coleraine play host to Dungannon Swifts. The Bannsiders have won their last three games and currently sit 6th in the table. Oran Kearney could hand a debut to Matthew Shevlin following his move from Linfield.

The visitors are winless in their last four games after beating the Bannsiders last month. Kris Lindsay’s side currently occupy 11th position in the table and he could hand a debut to Ryan Mayse and Matty Smyth following their moves from Ballinamallard United.

Previous meetings:

The two sides met each other just last month and Coleraine would leave Stangmore Park empty handed as Michael Carvill’s first-half effort had the Swifts ahead, before Rhyss Campbell sealed the win late on.

The previous fixture at The Showgrounds would be won by the Stripes as James McLaughlin got on the scoresheet four times after the break, with Aaron Jarvis also registering his first goal in Coleraine colours.

Manager’s Thoughts:

“We are both fortunate and grateful to be able to play,” Oran said.

“It’s not ideal and not people’s normal fix but it generates interest and the live streams have been good.

“It was the correct decision to postpone games recently but now we are ready to go again.

“The last few weeks have been good in terms of results and performances.

“It has been frustrating to have to stop again but I totally understand why in terms of where we are as a society.

“That’s why it’s great to see the testing coming in. The safety of the players and staff is of utmost importance.”
